Well unless you have just returned from a holiday on Mars or Neptune (other planets are available) you will no doubt realise that following UK Government advice we have to cancel organised sailing with immediate effect. We will restart organised sailing as and when RYA/Government advice allows but the race programme may be changed.

Club dinghies are not be used at this time and obviously there is no safety cover available at any time and the advice is not to go sailing - even in your own boat. The clubhouse and changing rooms etc are closed.

The AGM will also be cancelled.

The current plan is that the existing committee (who are all happy to stand again) will continue for another year with the likelihood of 1 or 2 other volunteers being co-opted onto the committee as required. There are no planned rule changes cost increases and the accounts are being audited as I write but they are unlikely to cause an issue. Obviously the proposed extension is on hold until we can get back on site so there is nothing contentious controversial or problematic to discuss. We are 'keeping calm and carrying on' to quote a popular phrase.

If any club member disagrees with this course of action then please get back to me and we can see if we can find an alternative way forward but obviously any group meetings are off. The normal reports from the Commodore Secretary Treasurer and Sailing Secretary could be sent out via email if requested. This has yet to be decided.

We fully intend to keep in touch with all our club members (via email initially) as we consider ourselves to be a 'community' and if you have problems then please get in touch - there may be something we can do to help.

So enjoy the self isolating as best you can get out in your garden and enjoy the sunshine.
